Grangemouth Taxi Firm Helps Elderly Residents Celebrate VE Day

  • Submitted by: Stephen Kerr, Central Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 16 May 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-17556

That the Parliament celebrates the efforts of Kerse Cabs, whose drivers gave their time and transport free of charge to transport Grangemouth Community Care clients to a celebratory afternoon tea by Grangemouth Old People's Welfare in Talbot House, to allow them to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day; believes that Kerse Cabs are a credit to their community and exemplify what it sees as the spirit of VE Day, and acknowledges what it sees as the importance of community initiatives, such as this, which strengthen community bonds, and that mark the sacrifice made by so many during the Second World War to create a tolerant and free society.
