That the Parliament commends Group Commander David Haggerty, a dedicated firefighter based in Motherwell, on his decision to run the London Marathon to raise funds for the charity, Whizz Kidz; recognises that David, aged 48, was inspired by his sister Linzie, aged 54, who has been a wheelchair user all her life and uses specialist equipment to support her mobility; notes that this is not David’s first marathon, having been inspired to run his first in his 30s due to Linzie’s strength and resilience; acknowledges the important work of Whizz Kidz in providing essential wheelchairs and mobility equipment to children across the UK, helping to improve their quality of life and independence; praises David’s personal dedication, community spirit and commitment to making a difference for children with mobility needs, and wishes him the very best for the marathon and in his continued fundraising efforts.
