  • Submitted by: Michelle Thomson, Falkirk East, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 27 March 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-16935

That the Parliament congratulates Murray Leslie, who is the store manager at Tesco, Redding, on being presented with a Community Achievement Award by the Rotary Club of Falkirk; understands that the ethos of this award is to recognise the efforts of someone who has helped others in the community where they live or work, with the individual often being an unsung hero whose actions go above and beyond to benefit others; commends Murray and his colleagues at the Redding store for the support that they have given to the community and organisations over the previous 12 months, allowing fundraising events to take place in store and community groups to utilise the noticeboard; recognises that the organisations that Murray and his colleagues have supported have included Strathcarron Hospice, Polmont Playgroup, Go Kids, Wee Braes Choir and Wallacestone and District Pipe Band; notes that, alongside receiving a trophy to keep for the next 12 months to recognise his efforts, Murray also received a cheque for £400 to be given to the charity of his choice; congratulates Murray on this award, and thanks him, and his colleagues, on their continued efforts to support the community.
