  • Motion reference: S6M-16750.1
  • Current status: Taken in the Chamber on Tuesday, 11 March 2025

As an amendment to motion S6M-16750 in the name of Shirley-Anne Somerville (Supporting Households with Cost of Living Pressures and Rising Energy Bills), insert at end "; understands that the much vaunted GB Energy that has been created by the UK Government will not supply electricity directly to households, and that promises of cuts to energy bills are unlikely to materialise, and calls on the Scottish Government to bring forward plans for the creation of a Scottish publicly owned energy company to sell Scotland’s abundance of gas and electricity to customers at low prices, and to set out which powers it believes must be devolved to the Scottish Parliament in order to make such a company a reality."
