That the Parliament wishes pupils at St Margaret’s School for Girls in Aberdeen well in a series of mathematics competitions this year, following their success during 2024; notes that in 2025, S1 to S4 pupils will test their problem-solving skills in the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Junior and Intermediate challenges and the Scottish Mathematical Challenge, as well as a variety of challenges at the UKMT team challenge; understands that last term, Hana Park, a senior student from the school, was named Best in Scotland at the Mathematical Olympiad for Girls competition, with a team of sixth year students winning TechFest’s STEM in the Pipeline Competition; believes that competitions such as these give maths students the opportunity to showcase their skills, challenge themselves and apply their learning in more real-world contexts, and wishes all those taking part in the competitions all the very best in their endeavours.
