That the Parliament congratulates Molendinar’s Flourishing on its shortlisting for the SURF 2024 Awards in the Improving Scotland’s Places category; acknowledges the significant achievements of St Paul’s Youth Forum (SPYF) in transforming the Blackhill and Provanmill areas, which are among the most deprived in Scotland; recognises the remarkable reduction in youth crime by 97% since 2006; celebrates the reopening of the Molendinar Community Centre and the creation of a community farm; commends the community for designing Scotland’s first grassroots travel infrastructure project; appreciates the diverse range of ongoing projects by SPYF, including providing space for small businesses and establishing a social enterprise bike shop; applauds the collaboration with HMP Barlinnie to upskill prisoners in bike mechanics, increasing access to work, education and employment for the community, and wishes Molendinar’s Flourishing every success in the SURF Awards 2024.
