Congratulating Supporting Our Community in Hamilton on its Award of £15,000 from the ASDA Foundation's Spaces and Places Grant Fund

That the Parliament congratulates Supporting Our Community (SCIO) in Hamilton on its award of £15,000 from the Asda Foundation’s Spaces and Places grant fund; understands that this funding will enable the transformation of a vacant space into a community garden and growing initiative with summer house, paths and raised beds; further understands that this community garden will provide excellent gardening volunteering opportunities for the people of Hamilton; applauds Supporting Our Community’s commitment and its ongoing dedication to providing year-round support and welcoming and inclusive services where people can come together; notes what it sees as the importance of community gardens in improving the mental health of both locals and volunteers, and welcomes the positive impact that they have on improving local biodiversity.
