  • Motion reference: S6M-12729

That the Parliament congratulates the Tannochside Miners Welfare Club on being a finalist for the Community Fundraising Hero category at the PubAid Community Pub Hero Awards; understands that the category received thousands of nominations across the whole of Scotland and applauds the Tannochside Miners Welfare Club for being one of the few groups nominated directly by its community; further understands that this category honours pubs supporting charities and other good causes through fundraising, and believes that its nomination is a testament to its tireless efforts to revitalise the club after the COVID-19 pandemic and transforming it into a vibrant multi-use community hub; notes that Rab Cassidy and his son, Andrew Cassidy, attended the awards night in London, and commends them and all those involved for their dedication, which led to this fantastic achievement; recognises Tannochside Miners Welfare Club as a pillar of the community of Tannochside and beyond, and wishes it every continued success in its future endeavours.
