  • Motion reference: S6M-12720

That the Parliament commends the exceptional fundraising efforts of the Aberdeen resident, Adele Mair, who is climbing Kala Patthar, above the Everest Base Camp, whilst raising money for the Aberdeen Donside-based charity, AberNecessities; understands that Adele is set to climb around 5,600 metres to reach the summit, which is said to provide the best views of Mount Everest; notes that AberNecessities was founded in 2019, providing disadvantaged families across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire with essential and basic necessities, which it believes no child should go without; recognises that Adele chose AberNecessities as she wants to play a part in making lives better for children and young people who live in poverty; understands that Adele’s journey commenced on 29 March 2024, with the trek taking place over two weeks; congratulates Adele on her fundraising efforts, and wishes her all the best for the future.
