Abertay University Dundee, Top International Games Design School

  • Submitted by: Michael Marra, North East Scotland, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 20 March 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12590

That the Parliament notes the recognition of Abertay University Dundee as the top international school for games design by The Princeton Review; believes that, in a new format rolled out in 2024, The Princeton Review has sought to help students pick the best games design universities in the USA and across the globe; understands that the university's School of Design and Informatics ranked top among all institutions outside of the USA for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, extending what it considers to be its long track record as Europe’s top-ranking games university; believes that the city of Dundee is an international games hub, creating some of the world’s biggest titles over the course of more than three decades, and that Abertay now provides most of the city’s games workforce; congratulates the university on this distinction, and looks forward to watching future successes.
