That the Parliament congratulates Helensburgh athlete, Chris Martin, on winning gold at the British Drug Free Powerlifting Association’s (BDFPA) National Single Lift Championships held in Lincolnshire; understands that, competing against athletes from all over the country, Chris benched an impressive 242.5kg, making this his fifth Equipped Bench Press title; further understands that Chris is determined to show, through his own lifting achievements, how important strength training can be to people, especially as they get older, and wishes Chris every success as he trains the next generation of powerlifters by running regular male and female lifting classes at The Journey.
