Brechin and Farnell Parish Church Welcomes New Minister, Reverend Adriaan van Tonder

That the Parliament congratulates Brechin and Farnell Parish church on the induction of its new minister, Reverend Adriaan van Tonder; acknowledges that Brechin and Farnell Parish church united together earlier in 2024, having previously been known as the Gardner Memorial Church, which was built in 1897; recognises that Reverend Adriaan van Tonder was inducted to the charge on 13 February 2024 by the Presbytery of Perth in the Brechin church, having previously been Associate Minister in the Glenrothes cluster; understands that Rev Adriaan van Tonder studied for his degree in theology at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, before answering a call from the Church of Scotland for overseas ministers to come and serve in Scotland; acknowledges that the parish was without a permanent minister for a number of years, and wishes him, his wife, young family and the Brechin and Farnell congregation well.
