David Perriman is Cumnock's Citizen of the Year 2023

That the Parliament applauds David Perriman from Cumnock for being awarded the title of the town’s Citizen of the Year 2023; understands that many nominations were submitted to the Keir McTurk Committee, which decides on a winner, and that there was tough competition for the prestigious award; recognises that David served in the Armed Forces for 26 years before moving to Cumnock; notes that David holds many roles in the community, including serving for 18 years as the Secretary of the Cumnock Rotary Club and Secretary and Volunteer at the Netherthird Community Centre; further notes that David volunteers at the Cumnock Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club; congratulates David on his work, which it considers helps to improve the lives of people in the community; thanks David for his service to the local area and his country, and wishes him the very best for the future.
