  • Submitted by: Michael Marra, North East Scotland, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 29 February 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12337

That the Parliament congratulates Dundee on marking 20 years as a Fair Trade City; recognises what it sees as the hard work of the Dundee Fair Trade Forum in gaining Fair Trade City status and maintaining it over the last 20 years; notes that Fair Trade City status is designed to maximise the use of fairly traded goods and ensure that workers are treated properly; encourages organisations in the public and private sectors to look for ways in which they could support fair trade; calls on Dundee City Council, the Scottish Government and the UK Government to look for ways to promote Fair Trade goods, especially in public procurement, and wishes Dundee Fair Trade Forum continued success in promoting fair trade in Dundee and beyond.
