That the Parliament congratulates Station House Media Unit (SHMU) on its successful launch of shmuFM on digital audio broadcast (DAB) radio; understands that its first digital audio broadcast on 19 February 2024 was on Aberdeen DAB, a multiplex established by SHMU that looks to provide an affordable platform for both existing broadcasters and local community-based broadcasters so that they can flourish; notes that shmuFM first started in 2003 to contribute pilot radio projects and programming to other radio broadcasts before receiving its five-year FM community radio licence in 2005; commends shmuFM on its successful first steps into digital audio broadcasting, and wishes Station House Media Unit all the best with its future endeavours.
