Scotland's National Drink Flourishing in Falkirk

  • Submitted by: Stephen Kerr, Central Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 25 January 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-11963

That the Parliament celebrates the launch of two Scotch whisky distilleries in the Falkirk area, the Falkirk Distillery and Rosebank Distillery; understands that recent figures highlight that Scotch whisky added over £7 billion to Scotland's economy in 2022, supporting 66,000 jobs and making up over 25% of UK food and drink exports; further understands that the opening of these two distilleries will bring tourism to the Falkirk area and create local jobs, and looks forward to seeing the future successes of the Falkirk Distillery and Rosebank Distillery.
