That the Parliament congratulates Carina Pratt, of Carina Rose Designs in Doune, on winning the Angelman Syndrome Awareness Designer Award for Social Good at the Fashion Designers' and Craftmakers' Network Designer of the Year 2023 awards in London on 28 October 2023, for her collection entitled Redefined Through Time; understands that Carina's collection was focused on textile waste and sustainability, which are a major concern in the fashion industry, incorporating sustainability into her collection by using recycled garments and materials, including bicycle chains from Roots Cycles in Doune; recognises what it sees as the significance of Carina's win, which has given her the opportunity to showcase her designs in New York City in spring 2024; acknowledges that Carina spent much of her early life in care, leaving school at 14 to train as a hairdresser, before being supported by the Prince's Trust to study and qualify in makeup design and setting up her own business in 2012; praises Carina for her enormous success, and wishes her well in New York City next spring.
