That the Parliament supports the nominations of Dr Colm McCarth for the Doctor Award, the NHS Borders Major Trauma Team for the Integrated Care Award, and Michelle Brownlee for the Support Worker Award at the Scottish Health Awards 2023; understands that the awards recognise and reward dedicated NHS staff, support workers, volunteers and specialist teams who go the extra mile to providing outstanding patient care; considers that 2023’s awards ceremony is particularly poignant as it coincides with the 75th anniversary of the NHS; understands that the three finalists fought off stiff competition from the rest of Scotland to earn their place at the prestigious awards ceremony, which will take place in Edinburgh; considers that all healthcare staff in the Borders try their utmost for patients throughout the area, and wishes all NHS staff nominated and shortlisted for awards the best of luck at the ceremony, and thanks them again for their tireless work.
