That the Parliament congratulates Mavis Paterson, better known as the "bionic Granny Mave”, on being named as the fundraiser of the year for the ITV Border region at the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards, staged in London in September 2023; notes that the 85-year-old from Auchenmalg, near Glenluce, recently cycled 1,000 miles around Scotland to raise £75,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, riding over, it understands, the most challenging terrains through all the weather that her beloved homeland can offer; recognises that, in 2019, she gained entry to the Guinness World Records after becoming the oldest woman to successfully pedal 960 miles from Land's End to John o’ Groats, and warmly welcomes what it sees as her amazing courage and energy in raising funds for charities that help people living with cancer.
