Celebrating the Housing Profession on Scottish Housing Day 2023

  • Submitted by: Mark Griffin, Central Scotland, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 12 September 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-10389

That the Parliament notes the celebration of Scottish Housing Day (SHD) on 13 September 2023; understands that SHD is intended to raise awareness of challenges and successes in the housing sector and raise people’s awareness of their housing options, with a particular focus in 2023 on celebrating housing as a career; commends the work of everyone across Scotland who has made housing their career of choice; notes what it sees as the positive impact of having a skilled, knowledgeable and ethical workforce on housing outcomes for communities, and recognises what it considers to be the benefit in establishing even more ways that people can join the profession, and the role that the Scottish Government and other relevant organisations can play in communicating the value of a career in housing.
