Inspirational Inverclyde Couple’s Fundraising Efforts for SiMBA

  • Submitted by: Stuart McMillan, Greenock and Inverclyde, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 16 May 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-08785

That the Parliament commends Rhianna Keenan and Jordan Provan for raising almost £20,000 for SiMBA as a "thank you" to the charity that helped them cope with the loss of their baby daughter; understands that Rhianna and Jordan were left devastated by their loss after their baby girl, Romy, was born without a heartbeat on 3 March 2022, but that SiMBA, a charity that helps families deal with miscarriages and stillbirths, supported them in the aftermath; appreciates that the couple from Inverclyde have since been raising funds so that other parents can receive the care that they received, and have fundraised over £19,000 for SiMBA through a series of donation drives; recognises that SiMBA gave Rhianna and Jordan a Memory Box in the hospital so that they could take pictures and create hands and feet prints of Romy, which enabled them to make lasting memories with their baby, and is a gift that they now cherish; applauds SiMBA for its ongoing work to support all those in Scotland affected by the loss of a baby, and wishes Rhianna and Jordan all the best as they continue with their fundraising efforts in memory of Romy.
