That the Parliament recognises and congratulates Barrhill on becoming the third Biosphere Community in South Ayrshire; notes that Barrhill is the eighth community to be given Biosphere status within the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere; understands that UNESCO makes its awards in recognition of attributes that are unique and of global importance; further understands that the Biosphere Communities Scheme encourages residents to explore local heritage and cultural identity; considers Barrhill to be promoted as a place where visitors can experience Biosphere life; understands that residents of Barrhill are active supporters of Biosphere as they look to embrace the environment and ways of sustainable practice, and wishes Barrhill and its residents well as they look to grow their network, and strengthening local ties with sustainable and community-led initiatives.
