That the Parliament congratulates Robert Gordon University’s Law School for officially launching the Grampian Community Law Centre’s dedicated Community Clinic in Torry, Aberdeen; notes that the Clinic will operate within the Torry Medical Practice and will provide people on low incomes with free, student-led legal services; understands that the Clinic is the first of its kind in Scotland to offer a holistic service in tackling the root cause of issues that may be contributing to poor mental and physical health, which it sees as particularly essential during the ongoing cost of living crisis; recognises the Clinic as an example of the University’s commitment to collaborative partnerships to enhance both community and student experience and engagement; notes that the Grampian Community Law Centre has already received commendations from key figures in the local authority and legal system; understands that the Clinic is expected to be open to the public later in 2022; commends the work of the Grampian Community Law Centre in supporting vulnerable people with free and confidential advice, whilst also giving students valuable volunteering experience, and passes on its best wishes for future success.
