  • Submitted by: Maggie Chapman, North East Scotland, Scottish Green Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 17 November 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-05940
  • Current status: Fallen

That the Parliament notes with distress the death of Chris Kaba, who was fatally shot in south London by a Metropolitan Police officer on 5 September 2022; understands from reports that Mr Kaba, a 24-year-old aspiring architect and soon-to-be-father, was unarmed when he was shot once by police and died in hospital roughly two hours later; expresses its solidarity with the hundreds of people who marched in London on 10 September 2022 to demand justice for Mr Kaba, and hopes that the necessary investigations can be completed as quickly as is possible, and that Mr Kaba’s family, friends and community may find peace.
