Celebrating Bisexual Day of Visibility

  • Submitted by: Maggie Chapman, North East Scotland, Scottish Green Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 20 September 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-05933

That the Parliament supports Bisexual Visibility Day, observed worldwide each year on 23 September, which aims to recognise the bisexual community and celebrate bisexual life; believes that 2022 is the 24th observance that aims to raise awareness and challenge bisexual and biromantic erasure; further believes that the bisexual community is frequently referred to as the forgotten part of the LGBT+ community, facing a number of negative stereotypes and expectations; highlights what it sees as an opportunity to combat biphobia, raise awareness, and share knowledge; expresses its solidarity with the bisexual community, and hopes that Bisexual Visibility Day will continue to have a positive impact for years to come.
