That the Parliament congratulates Hamilton Accies Football Club on the launch of its book, There Is Always Hope, on National Overdose Day on 31 August 2022, which, it understands, is a book of real life stories of recovery; notes that Hamilton Accies FC has worked in conjunction with the Scottish Recovery Consortium, Blameless Children's Charity, My Support Day and The Blue Triangle to produce the book; understands that 10,000 copies of the book have been printed, with many to be distributed to Scottish prisons as a means of support for those caught up in the system due to addiction, as well as to others across Scotland affected by addiction; further understands that an app is in development, which will provide people with mobile phone and tablet access to the 12 steps of recovery helplines included in the book, as well as to online access to the inspiring stories of recovery; applauds Hamilton Accies FC for what it sees as its community leadership on many matters associated with addiction, including participation in the development of a Recovery and Wellbeing Village at its football stadium, and wishes Hamilton Accies FC every success with both the book and other initiatives that seek to provide pathways to recovery and enhance the life chances of people living with addictions.
