  • Submitted by: Sharon Dowey, South Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 05 August 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-05426

That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the incredible work of Ayr’s Stacey Wheeldon; understands that Stacey has set up a charity support group, Childhood Abuse Support Team, to support survivors of childhood abuse and provide a safe space for those who have experienced childhood trauma to talk; believes that Stacey has set up this group following her own traumatic experience, providing people the space they need to be heard and start their healing process; understands that, on 8 July 2022, Stacey opened a local office and safe space in Ayr where survivors can book in for an appointment; commends Stacey on her positive work, on the back of a difficult time working to support fellow survivors, and wishes her all the best going forward.
