Congratulations to DD8 Music

  • Submitted by: Maurice Golden, North East Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 17 June 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-04937

That the Parliament commends Kirriemuir-based DD8 music for receiving a grant of £99,477 in Young Start funding; notes that DD8 music is a community-based charity founded in 2005 that works to build confidence and develop creative skills; recognises that this funding came from the Young Start community fund run by the National Lottery, which gives grants between £10,001 and £100,000 to help children across Scotland become more confident; understands that DD8 music will deliver a new project called Beyond the Stage, which will be a six-month course of personal development focussed on exploring creative talent and creating live events among other activities, and wishes DD8 music well in its mission to support over 200 young people and 30 volunteers over this three-year project.
