  • Date lodged: Friday, 06 May 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-04278

That the Parliament commemorates the life of Rangers’ legendary kit man, Jimmy Bell, who has passed away at the age of 69; understands that Jimmy served Rangers FC for over 30 years, initially driving the team buses to matches across the country and latterly acting as first team head of kit; recognises that Jimmy was a constant presence at the club for generations of players and staff, through both difficult times and successful times, including the club’s nine-in-a-row era, reaching the UEFA cup final in 2008 and more recently winning its 55th Scottish top-flight title; understands that Jimmy dedicated countless hours working for the club and had an exemplary work ethic; recognises that Jimmy was a family man, a devoted father, grandfather and husband, as well as a much-loved and vital part of the team, who will be greatly missed, and offers condolences to Jimmy’s family, friends and colleagues.
