That the Parliament welcomes plans for Shetland’s first Pride festival, which is due to be held in June 2022; welcomes the opportunity for the community to show support and solidarity for LGBT+ people; believes that this event will help demonstrate that this support exists the length and breadth of the UK; congratulates the organisers, Shetland Pride, and pays particular tribute to the work of Kerrie Meyer for leading efforts to bring such an event to Shetland; welcomes the backing of Shetland Islands Council, which has flown the rainbow flag for a number of years, and looks forward to seeing the festivities begin.
