Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

To ask the Scottish Government, regarding its response to the report by Environmental Standards Scotland, Protecting Scotland's seafloor: an assessment of Scottish Ministers' implementation of the Marine Strategy Regulations 2010, whether, it will undertake a quantified gap analysis to determine whether the measures contained in the 2025 UK Marine Strategy Programme of Measures are sufficient to deliver Scotland’s contribution to Good Environmental Status for seafloor integrity, and, should such an analysis identify a shortfall, whether it will comparatively assess the potential of new or additional fisheries management measures to contribute to Good Environmental Status, including spatial restrictions on mobile bottom-contact fishing.

To ask the Scottish Government, in light of Environmental Standards Scotland's finding that there is insufficient assurance that existing fisheries management measures and other work in the marine space will achieve Good Environmental Status, what consideration it is giving to a network of static-gear reserves covering at least 30% of Scotland's inshore waters as a new or additional measure under Regulation 14 of the Marine Strategy Regulations 2010.

To ask the Scottish Government what assessment it has made of whether the current eligibility and prioritisation criteria for Tier 3 adult weight management services and access to obesity medicines, including liraglutide, semaglutide and tirzepatide, result in patients receiving earlier access to treatment after developing Type 2 diabetes than patients with severe obesity who are seeking to prevent the onset of the condition.
