Investment in ferry services to Europe from Scotland will be released once a full assessment of proposals for any such routes has been completed.

Ministers are in the very early stages of considering how to take forward this commitment and will provide details in due course.

Any conditions attached to grant funding for ferry services from Scotland to Europe will depend on the terms of scheme under which such a grant is made.

An application for Waterborne Freight Grant has been received by the operators of the proposed Rosyth to Dunkirk ferry service. This is being assessed and a decision will be made shortly.

The final list of items to be covered by the legislation will be determined by consultation and engagement.

The Scottish Government is in regular contact with management at the Dalzell steelworks. We have been advised that the restart of operations is in progress and that they have confidence that the contract with Navantia to provide steel for the Fleet Solid Support Ship Programme will be fulfilled.

The Scottish Government is giving further consideration to the issues raised in the last session of the Parliament about the offence introduced by section 40 of the Regulatory Reform (Scotland) Act 2014 and related matters.
