To ask the Scottish Government whether it has set a date for completion of Scottish Natural Heritage’s updated wild land mapping.
Answer
Scottish Natural Heritage is continuing to take forward its work on wild land mapping, the next phase of which will be completed in the autumn. A specific date has not been set for its completion.

To ask the Scottish Government what action it is taking to support the food and drink industries.
Answer
The Scottish Government works with a range of public and private sector partners to support the food and drink industries through our National Food and Drink Policy. “Recipe for Success” sets out the holistic approach we are adopting to support this successful sector, including: supporting the growth of our food and drink industry; enhancing our international reputation as a land of food and drink; educating people about our food from plough to plate; and developing the skills of our food and drink workforce.

To ask the Scottish Government what (a) importance it places on and (b) support it provides to the meat (i) production and (ii) processing industries.
Answer
The Scottish red meat production and processing sector plays an important role in the wider food and drinks industry, and in the fabric of our rural communities. Since the start of the current support programme in 2007 Scottish meat processors have received in total £7.37 million of assistance, supporting £26.7 million of private investment.

To ask the Scottish Government what information it has on how many people are employed in the meat products industry in (a) Scotland, (b) Glasgow region and (c) the Glasgow Shettleston constituency.
Answer
The latest available data on the number of people employed in the meats products industry is taken from the Business Register and Employment Survey, which shows that in 2010 there were 6,600 people employees in the “Processing and preserving of meat and production of meat products” sector in Scotland. There were 600 employed in this sector in Glasgow City.
The number of employees in the Glasgow Shettleston Constituency area is below the threshold allowed for publication and therefore disclosive so cannot be provided.

To ask the Scottish Government what information it has on how many meat product factories there are in (a) Scotland, (b) Glasgow region and (c) the Glasgow Shettleston constituency.
Answer
Based on information provided by the Food Standards Agency Scotland, there are in total 325 approved meat product and meat preparation factories in Scotland, of which 29 meat plants are located in the Glasgow region, including three within the Shettleston constituency.
In some cases factories will hold dual approval for meat products and meat preparations.

To ask the Scottish Government when it last met representatives of (a) employers and (b) trades unions in the shipbuilding industry and what issues were discussed.
Answer
Ministers regularly meet with employers and representatives at various visits and events during the year, and discuss issues of importance to individual companies. The Cabinet Secretary also regularly meets with all Industry Leadership Group Chairs, including the Aerospace, Defence and Marine Chair.
The Confederation of Shipbuilding and Engineering Unions wrote to the Scottish Government on 22 June 2012 seeking a meeting with officials, which has been agreed.
