To ask the Scottish Government how much of the £24 million to be transferred to Skills Development Scotland in 2013-14 as part of the Employability Fund has been allocated to colleges.
Answer
In 2013-14, £24 million of the £52 million Employability Fund will be ring-fenced for the college sector. Of this, £6 million will be administered by Skills Development Scotland. SDS started procurement for the Employability Fund through Public Contracts Scotland on 17 December 2012. Assessment of the bids is now underway.
To provide stability for the college sector, £18 million will be administered by the Scottish Funding Council in 2013-14 and allocated to colleges pro rata to their current funding.
