To ask the Scottish Government which schools in West Lothian are being given support by the Attainment Scotland Fund schools programme; how much support they are receiving; what criteria were used for selecting them, and what support the programme can provide to the schools that were not chosen but were close to the selected schools in the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation rankings.
Answer
The schools in West Lothian involved in the Attainment Scotland Fund Schools Programme are Bridgend Primary School and St Thomas Primary School. We are currently reviewing their improvement plans and once finalised their funding allocation will be made available. The schools were selected on the basis that over 70% of their pupils live in the 20% most deprived data zones in Scotland (Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation).
The Scottish Attainment Challenge provides both the targeted support made through the Attainment Scotland Fund and universal support available across Scotland. This includes an attainment advisor, who will work collaboratively alongside local authority staff on agreed priorities, a national hub, which provides a virtual centre of educational expertise and incorporates a range of features to build collaborative learning and engage leaders and practitioners.

To ask the Scottish Government what its position is on the investigation by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator into the Voluntary Sector Gateway West Lothian.
Answer
The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator is part of the Scottish Administration, however it is not under the control of Scottish Ministers. As such it would not be appropriate for the Scottish Government to comment on what is an operational matter for OSCR.

To ask the Scottish Government when it will publish the independent report that it has commissioned into the Voluntary Sector Gateway West Lothian.
Answer
The Scottish Government has been actively engaging with the West Lothian Voluntary Sector Gateway to seek to address a number of matters, and a report was commissioned earlier in 2015 into the operation of Voluntary Sector Gateway. Whilst the process is on-going and whilst the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator is considering matters relating to the charity, the report cannot be made publicly available.

To ask the Scottish Government for what reason it has not provided financial support to the Voluntary Sector Gateway West Lothian for 2015-16.
Answer
Following the commissioning of a report into the operation of the West Lothian Third Sector Interfaces, we have been working with the gateway to address a number of issues. Whilst that process has been ongoing no Scottish Government funding has been provided for 2015-16.
