To ask the Scottish Executive what estimate it has made of the cost of eliminating any backlog of trunk road maintenance.

To ask the Scottish Executive when the Scottish Government will publish its road safety strategy.

Supported Bus Servicesare currently funded through the core local government finance settlement. The GrantAided Expenditure (GAE) shares used to distribute the support for bus services iscalculated using the population figures of each local authority in Scotland. GAE is neither a budget nor a spending target and itis for local authorities themselves to decide how they allocate their total resourcesto meet their own local needs and priorities.

In this case it isa matter for Glasgow City Council to decide how much it wishes to spend on sociallynecessary bus services within its area.

As part of the implementationof Moving into the Future – an Action Plan for Buses the Scottish Executiveis reviewing government funding to ensure it is directed at improving the qualityand reliability of services.
