To ask the Scottish Government, further to the answer to question S4W-21607 by Keith Brown on 18 June 2014, when it (a) last met and (b) will next meet stakeholders to discuss the possibility of establishing an air route development fund.

The Scottish Government regularly discusses route development with stakeholders including airlines and Scotland’s airports. Discussions are ongoing in respect of various new route opportunities to enhance Scotland’s international connectivity and increase inbound tourism. These discussions include support for route development but have not covered the establishment of an air route development fund.

To ask the Scottish Government whether it will provide a breakdown of how it spent the £8.4 million referred to in the 2013-14 Spring Budget Revision as having been transferred to the Infrastructure, Investment and Cities portfolio to "centrally manage social advertising and public information campaigns".

£6,689,669 of the £8.4 million Spring Budget Revision was spent on Scottish Government domestic public information and social advertising campaigns. These campaigns inspire positive change and help people make choices that change and save lives. Last year, for example:

Our Don’t Risk It road safety campaigns prevented an estimated 93 accidents, reducing injury and loss of life and saving the economy £11 million

6,000 people signed up to the organ donation register - an increase of 26% - following the launch of our campaign

Around 100,000 women took action as a result of the ‘Lumps aren’t the only sign’ breast cancer campaign, and 7,100 of these visited their GP.

Through our No Knives Better Lives campaign, we engaged with 8,016 parents living in areas most affected by violent crime and 7,850 leaflets were distributed to help parents have a conversation with their children about the dangers and consequences of knife carrying.

in 2013-14, four out of ten people took action to prepare for winter as a direct result of the Get Ready for Winter adverts, with the majority of the remainder saying they had already taken action. £1,211,871 was spent on international marketing which builds Scotland’s reputation overseas, encouraging people to live, work, study, visit and invest in Scotland. This includes expenditure related to the winter festivals.The remaining £498,460 was spent on Scotland’s Future - Your guide to an independent Scotland and related activity.
