To ask the Scottish Government what recent discussions it has had with relevant agencies in Ayrshire about the hospitalisation of people under 18 as a consequence of underage drinking.
Answer
The provision of prevention activity, recovery focussed treatment and support services is for each local area to consider, taking account of local needs, circumstances and resources. Responsibility is devolved to Alcohol and Drug Partnerships (ADPs) to commission evidence-based, person-centred and recovery-focused prevention and treatment services to meet the needs of their resident populations which includes young people.
The Scottish Government has made a record investment of £236 million to tackle alcohol use since 2008, the bulk of our funding - £211 million has been via NHS health boards to ADPs for investment in local prevention, treatment and support services. We continue to work with ADPs through our planning and reporting guidance, which aims to support the embedding of outcomes based planning and reporting at local level.
The three ADPs within NHS Ayrshire and Arran are taking action on a number of fronts to protect children and young people from the harm caused by alcohol misuse. Any dialogue with relevant agencies would be undertaken by the local ADP.

To ask the Scottish Government, in light of the reported £104,600 that was fraudulently spent on Creative Scotland's corporate credit card and recent reports criticising the running and the management of the organisation, what steps it is taking to protect the profile of Creative Scotland.
Answer
The incident of fraud on Creative Scotland’s corporate credit card to which you refer, involved transactions which occurred in 2010 and 2011.
Sound management of public resources is a top priority for Scottish Ministers. Creative Scotland takes seriously the requirement to mitigate the risk of fraud in all its operations.
Ministers are reassured that Creative Scotland has now introduced a robust financial monitoring and internal audit regime to minimise the risks of a similar incident occurring.
