To ask the Scottish Executive how many murders resulting from domestic violence there have been and how many people (a) were charged with, (b) pleaded guilty to charges of and (c) were convicted for domestic violence offences in each of the last 10 years.
Answer
The available information onhomicides recorded by the police where the relationship between the victim and themain accused was partner or ex-partner is given in the following table.

Mortality rates of coronary heart disease by parliamentaryconstituency since 1997, a copy of which is available in the Scottish ParliamentInformation Centre (Bib. number 41483).
Note that populations by parliamentaryconstituency are not readily available. However, these populations can be estimatedby aggregating populations, which are available by datazone geography level. Thereare instances where a datazone is split across more than one parliamentary constituency.In these cases, the datazone populationis allocated to the parliamentary constituency that contains the highest numberof postcode areas that make up the datazone.

The Finance Act 2001 (asamended) creates a number of offences in relation to the aggregates levy. Noreports in respect of such offences have been submitted to procurators fiscal.
