Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Executive what it is doing to address failures to comply with Part 5 of the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000, as reported in Remember, I’m still me, the joint report by the Care Commission and Mental Welfare Commission, to review these failures as a matter of urgency and to ensure that section 47 certificates are in place before treatment takes place for those who are unable to give or refuse consent to medical treatment.
