To ask the Scottish Executive what the reasons were for the circulation of a revised draft consultation document on physical activity and open space as reported in The Scotsman on 2 August 2007.
Answer
The draft
ScottishPlanning Policy 11: Physical Activity and Open Space (SPP 11) was publishedfor consultation in August 2006. Following the consultation period, theresponses were analysed, and a final draft has been in preparation in the lightof the comments received.
Given the lengthof time since the consultation period, it was felt appropriate to provide the SPP11 stakeholder group with an up-to-date working draft of the document, with thechanges made in response to the comments received, seeking their views. Theseviews, along with the consultation responses, will be taken into account as thedocument is finalised for publication. No decisions have yet been taken on thefinal content of the document, and we do not intend to publish any workingdraft prior to the final version.
