Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government whether the First Minister was aware that, apparently, neither the Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Europe and External Affairs nor anyone from her office had read the full economic report commissioned by DF Concerts in relation to T in the Park 2015 or verified the briefing figures with the research consultants, EKOS, when she considered the complaint against the cabinet secretary under the Scottish Ministerial Code.

To ask the Scottish Government whether the First Minister knew that the Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Europe and External Affairs was aware of the profits from previous T in the Park festivals before the decision was made to approve a grant to DF Concerts when she considered the complaint by Willie Rennie MSP against the cabinet secretary under the Scottish Ministerial Code.

To ask the Scottish Government whether the First Minister was informed that the Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Europe and External Affairs had had no relationship “as a friend or anything like that” (Official Report, c.13, 29 September 2015) with Jennifer Dempsie in the last six years when she considered the complaint by Willie Rennie MSP against the Cabinet Secretary under the Scottish Ministerial Code.

To ask the Scottish Government, further to the evidence by the Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Europe and External Affairs to the Education and Culture Committee on 29 September 2015 (Official Report, c.11), whether the First Minister was aware of the cabinet secretary's meeting with Jennifer Dempsie and Geoff Ellis of DF Concerts at the SNP Conference in March 2015 when she considered the complaint from Willie Rennie MSP about the cabinet secretary under the Scottish Ministerial Code, and who else was present at that meeting.
