To ask the Scottish Executive what the average duration of stay of dental students is at each dental facility other than the two dental schools.
Answer
It is anticipated that, asmore clinical dental outreach facilities become available in Scotlandover the next three years, every dental student in their final year will have between10 and 20 weeks’ experience in one of these centres.

Levels of dental teachingstaff are set by the universities andNHS Education for Scotland and agreed with the General Dental Council. It isfor health boards to appoint appropriate staff to deliver training andsupervision for dental students in their area.

To ask the Scottish Executive what inquiries it has instigated regarding the closure of, and danger of rock fall on, the Back O’Hill Road, Stirling, which had to be closed for public safety reasons three days after it was opened by the Minister for Communities.
Answer
None. The Back O’Hill Road is a local road and therefore the statutory responsibility for its safety,maintenance and repair lies with Stirling Council as the local roads authority.

To ask the Scottish Executive whether will ask the Health and Safety Executive to investigate and report on the circumstances surrounding the emergency road closure of Back O’Hill Road, Stirling, including whether the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations were correctly applied, specifically regulation 13 and regulation 15(3).

To ask the Scottish Executive what steps it has taken to advise local traders affected by closure of the Back O’Hill Road, Stirling, of their rights of appeal against the rateable value of their properties under the provisions of the Lands Valuation (Scotland) Acts in respect of a material change of circumstance.
Answer
The Executive has no direct rolein this. Stirling Council is responsible for the decision to close the road andfor advising local traders of their rights of appeal. The Assessor for Central Scotland is responsible for considering appeals against rateable values.
