Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)

To ask the Scottish Executive whether the First Minister, in making recommendations to Her Majesty's Government in respect of the recent appointment of full time sheriffs, took account of the political affiliations of those recommended for appointments and, if so, which of the sheriffs appointed have been members of political parties and of which political party.
