To ask the Scottish Executive how many newly-qualified Gaelic-medium primary teachers will leave Scottish colleges or courses of further education at the end of this academic year and how many vacancies will exist for them.The member has provided the following Gaelic translation: A dh' fhaighneachd de Riaghaltas na h-Alba co mheud neach-teagaisg air an yr ceumnachadh?a bhios a' f`gail cholaistean no chyrsaichean foghlaim `rd-lre aig deireadh an t-seisein acadaimigich seo agus a dh' fhaighneachd co mheud dreuchd b`n a bhios ann dhaibh.

To ask the Scottish Executive how many responses it received during the consultation period on the Gaelic Language (Scotland) Bill.The member has provided the following Gaelic translation:A dh' fhaighneachd de Riaghaltas na h-Alba cr mheud freagairt a fhuair e rh an `m co-chomhairleachaidh air Bile na G`idhlig (Alba).

The Scottish Executive published the draft Gaelic Bill for consultation on 10 October 2003. the Executive received over 3,400 responses from local authorities, public bodies includingBBC Scotland and the Gaelic Media Service, Gaelic interest groups and from individuals.

The consultation responses receivedby the Executive commented on a wide range of Gaelic related subjects, includingGaelic medium education at school and Gaelic learning opportunities for adults.It is now the responsibility of Scottish ministers to prepare a Gaelic bill forintroduction to the Scottish Parliament later this year. In doing this they willtake account of the wider policy context, the consultation responses received andthe Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts Report.

The Executive has providedthe following Gaelic translation:

Dh’fhoillsich Riaghaltas na h-Albaan dreachd Bhile Gàidhlig airson comhairleachadh air 10 Dàmhair 2003. Fhuair anRiaghaltas còrr air 3,400 freagairt bho ùghdarrasan ionadail, buidhnean poballachleithid BBC Alba agus Seirbheis nam Meadhanan Gàidhlig, buidhnean Gàidhlig agusbho dhaoine fa-leth.
