To ask the Scottish Executive what percentage of households in Dundee had (a) no car, (b) one car and (c) two cars available for private travel in each of the last three years.
Answer
Information about the percentageof households in each local authority area who had (a) no car, (b) one car and (c)two cars is not available for single years, because the Scottish Household Surveyis not designed to provide figures on this basis. The latest available informationis given in table 1 of Transport Across Scotland in 2003 and 2004: some ScottishHousehold Survey results for parts of Scotland, published by the Scottish Executivein 2006, copies of which are available from the Scottish Parliament InformationCentre (Bib number 39255). This gives information for the two-year period 2003-04.The corresponding figures for 1999-2000 and 2001-02 are available in earlier editions;the 2005-06 edition should be published in December 2007.
