To ask the Scottish Government how disabled people who wish to work in the NHS can be supported.
Answer
The Scottish Government and NHSScotland is fully committed to equality and diversity, and ensuring that these values are fully respected by, and reflected in the policies and practice of NHSScotland.
This includes fair and consistent recruitment policies and provision of a supportive environment for all groups of staff, including disabled people and is underpinned by local and national implementation of both the Staff Governance Standard and Embracing Equality and Diversity and Human Rights Policy.
Within the ‘Fairer Scotland for Disabled People Delivery plan’ - we have also given a specific commitment to provide further tools and guidance to support Health Boards to increase the number of people with learning disabilities employed by them.

To ask the Scottish Government what progress it is making in encouraging the recycling of paper products.
Answer
The Scottish Government has put in place a framework to support a more circular economy through our recycling systems:
-
Paper and card are priority materials targeted by the separate collection requirements of the Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2012.
-
The Scottish Household Recycling Charter specifies separate collection of paper and card from other recycling streams. This will maximise both the quantity and quality of material collected for recycling.
-
24 local authorities have already signed up to the Charter – including South Lanarkshire - and we’re providing financial support for councils to implement the Charter.
-
The statutory Code of Practice for Material Recovery Facilities has introduced a sampling regime to determine quality and improve the standard of recyclate available to material reprocessors.
-
The Scottish Materials Brokerage Service will increase the value and stability of local authority waste material contracts, helping to ensure consistency and quality of recyclate supply to material reprocessors.

To ask the Parliament what information it has on how many EU nationals have been detained in Dungavel Immigration Removal Centre in each year since 2009, for what reason, for how long, and how many have been removed from Scotland to the rest of the UK and to other EU nations.
Answer
The Scottish Government does not hold data on those detained at Dungavel Immigration Removal Centre. As immigration is fully reserved, it is the Home Office who hold data on immigration detention.

To ask the Scottish Government what analysis it has carried out on the impact on EU nationals living and working in Scotland of the reported fivefold increase in the number of EU nationals detained in immigration centres since 2009.
Answer
The Scottish Government has not carried out any analysis on the impact on EU nationals living and working in Scotland of the reported fivefold increase in the number of EU nationals detained in immigration centres since 2009. Immigration, and compliance with immigration law, is fully reserved to the UK Government.
However, following the EU referendum, it is more important than ever to stand up to negative rhetoric surrounding immigration and to strive to provide a welcoming and tolerant society for all those who have chosen to make their home here. The Scottish Government will continue therefore to press the UK Government to deliver a more flexible and humane immigration system that meets Scotland’s needs.

To ask the Scottish Government what discussions it has had with the UK Government regarding Dungavel House immigration removal centre since November 2016 when the Planning and Property Policy Board of Renfrewshire Council refused permission to build an immigration removal centre next to Glasgow Airport.
Answer
The Scottish Government has not had any discussions with the UK Government about Dungavel House Immigration Removal Centre since November 2016. However, I did seek guarantees about the safety and wellbeing of detainees and assurances that anyone moved to England will be guaranteed suitable legal representation, during my meeting with the Immigration Minister, Robert Goodwill MP on 11 October 2016.
