Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government, in light of the proposed closure of trauma and orthopaedic services at Monklands Hospital, what discussions it has had with NHS Lanarkshire regarding whether the three emergency departments in North Lanarkshire will be able to cope with the impact of the proposals.

To ask the Scottish Government, in light of the proposed closure of trauma and orthopaedic services at Monklands Hospital, what discussions it has had with NHS Lanarkshire regarding whether paramedics will be responsible for diagnosing orthopaedic fractures and deciding which need surgery, so that they can decide which hospital to take patients to.
