To ask the Scottish Executive what its estimate is of the number of police officers there will be in each year to 2011-12, broken down by police force.
Answer
The number of police officers in each force in future years will depend on a number of factors including levels of retirements and forward recruitment projections. These are matters for individual chief constables and police boards.
