To ask the Scottish Executive what support services it is putting in place to assist people diagnosed with cardiomyopathy through the screening programme for young athletes.
Answer
The results of every assessment undertaken by the cardiac assessment in young athletes pilot programme will be notified to that person''s GP. The number of positive cases is expected to be very small. Where a cardiac problem is found, the athlete concerned will be directed to an appropriate clinic for care. This may be a general cardiology clinic or, if more specialist care is required, a clinic for cardiomyopathy, inherited arrhythmias or adult congenital heart disease as appropriate. Genetic counselling would also be provided as necessary.

To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S3W-15169 by Stewart Maxwell on 19 August 2008, on what basis funding was provided to the Scottish Islamic Foundation.
Answer
All applications for funding received by the Scottish Government are scrutinised and considered for their match with government priorities and assessed for their value for money. All applications submitted by organisations to the Race, Religion and Refugee Integration funding stream were subject to such procedures. As is standard practice, grant conditions, including financial monitoring, were attached to all of the projects being funded through the Race, Religion and Refugee Integration funding stream.
